The Hardest Working Gearboxes in the World at Your Fingertips

Before I joined Weddle Industries in 2012, the company had been struggling to get a website off the ground. WeddleIndustries.com existed as site with less than twenty pages of static content that featured only a handful products and zero calls-to-action. The fixed build structure made it time consuming and expensive to update content. The site barely registered in Google search results and garnered nearly zero traffic.

Rebuilt from the ground up. I led a major overhaul of the site. First, we converted to the Drupal platform. I worked closely with the Weddle Industries founders to determine the needs of not only our customers, but also our internal staff. We redesigned the user experience and added a content management system, a dynamic catalog of over 400O products, and e-commerce capabilities.

Telling our story. Weddle Industries has a long and rich history developing high performance components for the hardest working gearboxes in the world. In order to showcase all of our hard work, we work constantly to develope fresh content that keeps our customers up to date on our latest innovations and the successes that race teams have with our products.

Users come first. The main focus of our customers is getting the top performance out of their vehicles. Our main focus is making sure they can do so. We designed weddlendustries.com to make it easy for everyone to get their job done. We built a robust search and filter system so our users can any specific part with ease. We created custom tools such as our Weddle Gear Ratio Calculator so our customers can find their perfect gearing. We streamlined our e-commerce process, with one-click, auto-refill carts, custom pricing views and simple checkouts for a breezy shopping experience.

WeddleIndustries.com has become the central nervous system of our sales operations. It's allowed thousands of customers to find product specs, service information, and inventory status 24 hours a day, from anywhere in the world. We now rank at the top of our most relevant Google searches. The site has taken a load off of our sales staff from technical and inventory questions so they can concentrate on filling orders. At the same time, we have had to double our phone sales staff to handle the new inbound traffic.

More to come. We operate with a small but tight web team, but we have big plans. Next up is a responsive re-design of our entire site to give our users a better mobile experience. We are constantly working to make sure we give our customers the best experience at their fingertips.
